Derry band Ports have released the first single from their new album “Gameplay.” The track is the first of three singles to be taken from the album, “The Devil Is A Songbird” and is a reflection of the band’s intricate songwriting and heart warming melodies. The four piece (pictued) - Steven McCool (bass and vocals), Mark O'Doherty (drums), Ryan Griffiths (guitar) and Conor Mason (piano) – received enthusiastic reviews following the release of their first demo “I’d Let You Win” resulting in the band being “Flavour of the Month” and “Ones to Watch” with BBC Introducing which led to extensive airplay on BBC Radio One and RTE One among countless others. Ports spent most of 2014 in the studio recording “The Devil’s A Songbird,” which was mixed by Dan Long (Local Natives, Queens of the Stone Age). The band will begin an Irish tour later this month beginning in at Whelans in Dublin on 25 September. They return to their home town the following night to take to the stage of Echo Echo Dance Studio. They will also be appearing at Monroe’s in Galway (27 September), Blackbox, Belfast (2 October), HWCH, Dublin (3 October) and Cyprus Avenue, Cork (4 October).
