Derry woman charged with breaching bail conditions

Lisa Stokes (33) of Galliagh Park in Derry was on bail for drug and burglary charges

Rowdy scenes at Derry Magistrate's Court as anti lock down protesters disrupted proceedings

A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court following a breach of her bail conditions.

Lisa Stokes (33) of Galliagh Park in Derry was on bail for drug and burglary charges.

As a part of her bail conditions, she was prohibited from being in her mother's address, her mother being the alleged injured party in the burglary case.

On December 11 last year, her mother called the police claiming that Stokes and her co-accused in the drug case had attended her home and stolen money, but police were unable to locate her until they responded to a domestic incident at the same address on February 11.

Police objected to bail as they believe there is a clear risk of reoffending.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that Stokes had been on bail 'for a considerable time' for what were 'two essentially theft cases' and suggested she be released with a final warning.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan released her but warned that any further breaches would lead to immediate custody.

She will appear again on March 11.
