Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue has welcomed the National Student Survey results for universities in the north, which show high levels of satisfaction of final year students with their degree courses. The party's local Education spokesperson said:"The National Student Survey results show a majority of 85% of students in north were satisfied with the quality of their course. "All of the higher education institutions in the north: Queen's University, St Mary's University College, Stranmillis University College, Ulster University and Open University, scored over 80% in terms of overall student satisfaction and they must be commended for the student experience they provide. "The survey results did highlight less than three quarters of students were satisfied with how assessments were marked, so this is something institutions must work to address. "It is important that students have the opportunity to provide feedback and that universities listen to their students, the National Student Survey is one mechanism for doing this. "All further and higher education institutions must continue to strive to provide a high-quality student experience in terms of both academic and social outcomes, and to do so through partnership working between students, staff and academics."
