IN PICTURES: Derry's Blue Monday lifted by Translink and Hive Cancer Support collaboration

New "Talk ‘n’ Travel" initiative puts Translink’s Better.Connected strategy into action across the city

This Blue Monday, Translink partnered with Hive Cancer Support to introduce Talk ‘n’ Travel across the Foyle Metro network in Derry, bringing moments of warmth and conversation to everyday journeys. Hive representatives joined various services throughout the day, offering passengers the opportunity for friendly, informal chats - a simple reminder of the positive role human connection can play in wellbeing.

Reflecting Translink’s Better.Connected strategy, the initiative highlights a commitment to connecting communities in meaningful and practical ways through public transport. Across both the Cityside and Waterside routes, small exchanges and shared moments helped add a gentle lift to Blue Monday, which is often regarded as one of the most challenging days of the year.
