IN PICTURES: Sean Dolan’s u-16 team lauded for community spirit

Mayor praises the "tremendous achievement" that brings pride to the entire area

The Mayor of Derry and Strabane, Councillor Ruairí McHugh, hosted a civic reception in the Guildhall in honour of Sean Dolan’s GAC Under-16 team, recognising their outstanding achievement in securing the Derry County U-16 Championship. The event brought players, coaches, families, and club representatives together to acknowledge the dedication, teamwork, and commitment that underpinned the team’s success throughout the season. Congratulating the squad, the Mayor praised both the players and the wider club for their contribution to local sport and community life.

“This is a tremendous achievement and a source of great pride, not just for the club, but for the entire community. I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate the team and all the members behind the scenes – well done and keep up the fantastic work!”
