The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council recently welcomed members of the Bunscoil Cholmcille School Council to the Mayor’s Parlour at the Guildhall for a special visit and question-and-answer session.
The pupils, accompanied by their teacher, Niamh Ní Chearúil, also enjoyed a guided tour of the historic building and explored a number of its exhibitions. Mayor Cllr Ruairí McHugh said he was delighted to host the group and valued the opportunity to hear directly from the young people.
“I was pleased to meet pupils from Bunscoil Cholmcille this week and to hear their thoughts and ideas about the Council and how they feel it should operate. I hope they all enjoyed their visit to the Guildhall and took something meaningful away from the experience.”
