Welsh Premiership club Swansea FC will hold opening training sessions within their Derry Development Centre this month in a bid to find some of the city’s finest U11 and U12 talent. The sessions will take place at St Columb’s College on Fridays and cost £3 per player. It is a great opportunity for young players born in 2005/2006 to trial for their expanding programme within Northern Ireland. Swansea’s Head of Coaching Dave Adams said it was a great opportunity for young footballers to pave a potential future to Premiership football. “This programme is part of the Academy’s long-term vision to provide opportunities for talented players to access high quality training and support services. Our goal is to create a pathway between our talent centres in Ireland so that players have a long term pathway into our Swansea City Academy.” Players interested in the Talent ID days can register via the link below. Simply locate the St Columb’s College section before completing the form. An email will then be sent with dates and times. It is hoped that the ID Process will span over a few weeks due to the interest in the programme. To register, visit this website: http://swansacademy.co.uk/swans-development-application
