Derry man remanded after series of vehicles thefts and criminal damage

A man has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with a series of vehicle offences. 

Emmett Doherty (28) of Cashelmore Park in Derry appeared charged with a total of seven charges.

He faced six charges of interfering with vehicles, criminal damage to vehicles and the theft of an items from a vehicle.

All of the offences were said to have occurred on March 7 as well as another charge of obstructing police on the same date.

Defence counsel Adam Laird said that there would not be any bail application at this stage.

Doherty was remanded in custody to appear again on March 26.
