A man who the judge said had 'an appalling record' has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with breaching his bail.

Jordan Hazlett (30) of Ebrington Oaks in Derry appeared charged with breaching his curfew and alcohol conditions of his bail.

A police officer said that Hazlett had a 'very poor bail history' and his breath reading was 89mgs with 35mgs being the legal limit.

The officer said that Hazlett was also outside his curfew time when detected.

Defence counsel Stephen Chapman said that his client had been on bail for four months and had been doing 'quite well' until this relapse.

The police officer said that they had no objection to the defendant being re-released on bail provided he was given 'a clear warning'.

District Judge Suzanne Rice told Hazlett that if he appeared again for breaching bail he could spend some time in custody.

Hazlett will appear again on March 26.
