City of Derry attend Limavady RFC Maxol Mini Rugby Festival

City Of Derry RFC
City of Derry RFC were one of the participants as Limavady RFC recently played host to a Maxol Mini Rugby Festival as nearly 100 rugby players aged 12 and under from nine neighbouring clubs enjoyed a series of matches. The young players also had the opportunity to meet Ulster Rugby stars Ross Kane and Stuart McCloskey who attended the tournament and spent time signing autographs, posing for shots and encouraging the next generation of rugby talent. Maxol, the leading forecourt and convenience retailer is the title sponsor of the Ulster Mini Rugby programme which attracts thousands of players from across Northern Ireland to take part. Those taking part are offered the opportunity to not only develop their rugby skills but also the chance to socialise with other like-minded children and get to meet their Ulster Rugby heroes. Kevin Paterson, NI Retail Manager for Maxol said, “It is great to see so many young people coming together for the Maxol Mini Rugby Festival. We know the importance of encouraging our young people to stay active and get involved in sporting activities and the Maxol Mini Rugby Festivals are a great way for us and our retailers to show our support for the local community”. For nearly a century, Maxol has played a vital part of local life in Northern Ireland whether that’s through fuelling people’s lives or supporting local initiatives across its network of convenience destinations. The company first supported Ulster Mini Rugby in 2013 and has renewed its sponsorship for a further 2 years as part of its ongoing investment in local communities.
