Fast food chain McDonald's has confirmed that an online video of dead mice was filmed at one of its Derry restaurants.
The video circulating online shows 14 dead mice inside McDonald’s Crescent Link restaurant.
It is believed the video was taken during ongoing refurbishment works at the site.
The footage, which has been shared on social media, shows the dead mice scattered across the kitchen area.
The footage shows one mouse on top of a fixture beside a drink’s can.

Another section of the video shows eleven mice on the floor beside nails and an old food item.
In the last part of the video, two dead mice are seen on the floor with grease spills near them.

A spokesperson for the global fast foot giant confirmed the footage was filmed at the Crescent Link location and stressed that “cleanliness and hygiene” is of the “utmost importance”.
“We are aware of the video circulating which shows pests inside our Crescent Link restaurant and can confirm this footage was filmed while the restaurant was closed and undergoing construction work as part of a major refurbishment.
“Cleanliness and hygiene are of the utmost importance to us, and we continue to work closely with our construction partners and pest control specialists to ensure the hygiene standards our customers expect,” the spokesperson confirmed.
The McDonald’s Crescent Link restaurant is set to reopen after refurbishment works on March 26.
