Derry man to stand trial on series of drug charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of drug charges. 

Gary Duffy (39) of Clon Elagh in Derry appeared at a Preliminary Enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today. 

He was charged with attempted possession of a class B drug on dates between July 30b2024 and December 15 2024.

He was also charged with possessing class B drugs with intent to supply on December 14 2024 and possessing drugs on the same date. 

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Duffy said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on March 23 and released on continuing bail.
