Saoradh North Derry announces strategy to tackle anti-social behaviour and 'scourge' of drugs

Saoradh North Derry says they have made positive steps in addressing illegal drug activity.

Saoradh North Derry has announced an intensified community engagement strategy aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour and the 'scourge of illicit drugs' across the area.
Following a series of direct engagements with working class residents, youth, and local business owners, Saoradh, with the assistance of the wider Republican Movement, reports 'a growing demand for proactive, grassroots action to protect  communities from the impact of addiction and exploitation'.
Local Saoradh representative Christy O’Kane stated: “Our recent discussions across North Derry have shown that the community is ready to take a stand. We have made positive steps in addressing illegal drug activity, but real change requires the involvement of the people themselves.
"We want to empower residents to stand against those who prey on our communities for profit. Through cooperation and solidarity, we can create an environment free from the misery and heartbreak these death dealers bring to our doors.
"Saoradh activists, with the support of the wider Republican Movement, have committed to providing ongoing guidance and support to any families or individuals affected by anti-community activity. We emphasise that all outreach and communication from the public will be handled with the strictest confidentiality."
Saoradh are calling on all residents who wish to see a safer, drug free future for North Derry to contact their local Republican activist or reach out via email at info@saoradh.irish.
