A man with over 200 previous convictions has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with disorderly behavior and assault on a member of staff in Foyleside.

Paul Farren (36) of John Street in Derry was charged after police were called on February 15 and found Farren being restrained by three members of security staff.

Police spoke to one of the staff members and were told that, while on patrol on level one of the shopping center, they noticed Farren who is barred from the premises began to shout abuse and give the finger.

Farren then went to Iceland and had to be removed as he is barred from the shop.

Bodycam footage showed Farren swinging and punching a member of staff, causing minor injury to his lip.
