Translink has been urged to introduce a bus service to the new £5.2 million Mullenan Derry City Cemetery, which is set to open in spring 2026.
Sinn Féin Moor councillor Patricia Logue said she has been contacted by a number of people concerned about the lack of information regarding public transport to the new site.
“With the cemetery due to open in the coming months, people without access to a car have asked me to lobby Translink locally to provide a bus service to Mullenan,” she said.
“I appreciate that this would involve a new route and that any timetable may need to be reviewed and adjusted over time. However, it is important that accessible transport is in place from the outset. I hope Translink can make an announcement on this as soon as possible.”
