Derry Court
A solicitor told Derry Magistrate's Court that he had an unusual case in that a woman felt 'harassed' by someone sending her £100 and said he was open to that sort of harassment.
The comments came in the case of Brendan Casey (28) of High Park in Derry who admitted breaching a non molestation order on July 20 2024.
The court heard that the injured party who had taken out a non molestation order in June of 2024 contacted police to say Casey had been phoning her, using WhatsApp and contacting family members.
She said he had sent her a video of him sending her £100 by bank transfer.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that he was open to be harassed by people sending him money.
He said this defendant was not suitable for community service.
Casey was given a 3 month prison sentence suspended for 2 years.
