Mans pleads guilty after police officer carried along on the bonnet of a vehicle

Adam McMonagle (29) with an address at Hall Lane in London appeared at Derry Crown Court today where he was re-arraigned on a charge of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent to resist detention

A man has pleaded guilty to all charges in connection with a case where a police officer was carried along on the bonnet of a vehicle.

Adam McMonagle (29) with an address at Hall Lane in London appeared at Derry Crown Court today where he was re-arraigned on a charge of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent to resist detention on May 2, 2022.

McMonagle had already pleaded guilty to six other charges in connection with the incident. 

These include dangerous driving, assault on police, assault and driving with no insurance on May 2, 2022.

Judge Neil Rafferty KC said that this was a case where a car was used as a weapon.

He requested a pre-sentence report and McMonagle will be sentenced on April 11.

He was released on continuing bail.
