A selection of the candidates for East Derry.
Kathleen McGurk (Sinn Féin)
This is Kathleen McGurk's first Assembly election, and one where she succeeds party colleague Cathal Ó hOisín to become running mate for Caoimhe Archibald.
The Dungiven native has served as a councillor on Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council since her election in 2019, where she was elected to the Benbradagh ward with 677 votes.
Sinn Féin have never managed to secure a second Assembly seat in East Derry, but McGurk has proved a strong influence for the party at local government level.
Banagher Dam is a priority for Councillor McGurk
In the first of a new series of interviews with local political representatives, Liam Tunney chats to Benbradagh councillor Kathleen McGurk about finance, the council's image problem, and revitalising Banagher Dam.
