A “viable device” has been made safe after army bomb experts were called to a property in Ballyclare, Co Antrim, police said.
The PSNI said they received a report of a suspicious object outside the property on the Ballylagan Road just after 9am on Sunday.
The area was cordoned off and a number of properties evacuated as a precautionary measure, they have now been allowed to return home.
Ammunition Technical Officers examined the device and deemed it viable.
It was made safe and removed from the scene to undergo forensic examination.
Detective Inspector Hanbidge said: “We appreciate that people were out of their homes for most of Sunday as this public safety operation was carried out, and we thank people for their understanding and patience during this time.
