Police in Derry seize controlled drugs with an estimated street value of £100,000

Police in Derry have recovered suspected Class A and Class B controlled drugs with an estimated street value of £100,000.

The seizure was made by police in the city yesterday, 18 March, 2026.

Two men have been arrested as part of enquiries, which are ongoing, and both men remain in custody at this time.

Derry City and Strabane Inspector Ian Ferriby said: "Seizures such as this reduce the harm the supply and use of illegal drugs cause. We also know that those who are involved in the sale and supply of illicit drugs have only one aim - to make money at the expense of the misery and harm they cause to others.

“We encourage anyone with information about drugs within communities, to tell us. You can speak to police on 101, or alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, who guarantee anonymity.”
