Derry Court
A man will be sentenced in May after he admitted making a threat to kill against a woman.
Declan Gillespie (37) of Strabane Old Road in Derry pleaded guilty at Derry Magistrate's Court to a charge of making a threat to kill the woman on July 30 2025.
Gillespie was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon namely razor blades on the same date.
The court heard that Gillespie was outside the woman's address when he made the threats to kill.
He then waited for police to arrive and when he was arrested he handed the razor blades to them.

Gillespie told police he had the blades as the previous week he had been doing some plastering and used the blades for that.
District Judge Ted Magill said that the fact Gillespie had the blades and had been walking about for some time did cause him some concern.
But he said that he was not satisfied Gillespie had the blades for an offensive purpose and dismissed that charge.
Defence counsel Michael Donaghy said that his client had a record and requested a pre-sentence report.
Gillespie will be sentenced on May 15 after a report is prepared.
