Bail breach for Derry man who spat into breathalyser

Darren Dixon (29) of Carleton Court in Derry was discovered to be in breach of the alcohol condition of his bail

Rowdy scenes at Derry Magistrate's Court as anti lock down protesters disrupted proceedings

Derry Magistrate's Court

After police received reports of a man kicking doors they found a person who they discovered was in breach of the alcohol condition of his bail.

Darren Dixon (29) of Carleton Court in Derry admitted the bail breach.

The court heard that once police detained him he was asked to blow into a breathalyser.

A police officer said that instead of blowing Dixon spat into the machine but added that it was clear he was intoxicated in breach of his bail conditions.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that this was Dixon's first breach and asked for a 'strong clear warning' to be issued.
