Derry Court
A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with breaching a non-molestation order taken out by his mother.
David Johnson Smith (37) of no fixed abode was charged with, on February 25, breaching the order by going to his mother's address.
Police were called by his mother who said that Smith was refusing to leave and the two had a thirty minute exchange during which they were said to be arguing.
Police eventually located Smith and arrested him and, when interviewed, he claimed that his mother had arranged for him to be at her address.
Bail was objected to as he has twenty-one previous convictions and six breaches of restraining orders, with his most recent conviction coming on February 24 when he was given a suspended sentence.

A defence barrister applied for bail under a number of conditions that were granted by Deputy District Judge Liam McStay.
These conditions include that he not enter Maghera, he have no contact with his mother and he abide by a curfew.
He will appear again on April 1.
