The Chairperson highlighted several key achievements made possible by the Council’s support during the past year:

  • Preserving Local History: Protecting Maghera’s unique stories and local identity through archiving and research.
  • Vibrant Community Programming: Delivering a diverse schedule of workshops, historical talks, and arts events - such as the John Marquess Memorial Library opening - uniting the town and its rural hinterland.

Building Local Pride: Contributing directly to the Maghera Regeneration Programme and the new town brand identity.
"We are deeply grateful for the Council's help in delivering outcomes that matter," McCoy added.

"This collaboration ensures Maghera remains a vibrant hub of history, inter-generational solidarity, and community spirit.”
