Amnesty NI Deputy Director Gráinne Teggart to visit Derry for public talk

Holywell Trust to host Amnesty International: Human Rights in a Changing World

Gráinne Teggart, Northern Ireland Deputy Director of Amnesty International UK, will speak at Holywell Trust in Derry to discuss the rise of authoritarian practices and the pillars of a free society, which are argued to be under attack in the UK and in other parts of the world.

The event will also see discussions take place around efforts to undermine international systems designed to protect human rights.

This event forms part of Holywell Trust's ongoing commitment to providing a space for informed public dialogue on issues of civic and social importance. By bringing leading voices from the human rights sector to the heart of the community, Holywell Trust continues to deliver on its role as a centre for engagement, reflection and debate on the challenges facing society both locally and globally.

Gráinne Teggart has been a prominent voice on human rights issues in Northern Ireland for a number of years, and in her role as Northern Ireland Deputy Director of Amnesty International UK, she has been closely involved in advocacy and policy work across a range of areas.

Her appearance at Holywell Trust will offer attendees a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the leading figures in the human rights sector and to engage with the issues through open discussion.
