Air Ambulance NI launches major volunteer drive in Coleraine

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland is inviting members of the public to discover how they can make a life-saving difference by volunteering, at a dedicated Volunteer Recruitment Evening in Coleraine this February.

The event will take place at The Lodge Hotel, Coleraine, on Wednesday, February 25 2026, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, and is open to anyone interested in becoming part of Air Ambulance NI’s incredible volunteer network.

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting Air Ambulance NI, helping the charity to deliver its vital service to communities across the province, through raising awareness and helping out with key fundraising activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the wide range of volunteering roles available, meet members of the team, and hear first-hand how volunteering supports the charity’s lifesaving work.

Air Ambulance NI works in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to provide the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for Northern Ireland. The HEMS team attend patients who are seriously ill or injured, bringing emergency pre-hospital care direct to the casualty which can mean the difference between life and death. On average the medical team are called upon twice every day, whether that to a serious road traffic collision, farm or workplace accident, sport and leisure incident or a serious medical emergency.

Volunteering with Air Ambulance NI offers the chance to meet new people, develop new skills, gain valuable experience, and most importantly, help to save lives. No-one hopes to need the air ambulance, but it is a great reassurance to know it is there for you and your loved ones, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
