Derry student named finalist in global 'good deed' contest

St Joseph’s Boys’ School student Noah Doran is one step away from joining young changemakers in Italy as a finalist in the Loukoumi Student Spotlight Contest.

Noah Doran, a dedicated student at St. Joseph’s Boys’ School in Derry, has been announced as a global finalist in the prestigious Loukoumi Foundation Student Spotlight Contest.

The local teenager is now calling on the Derry community to help him secure a place at the Loukoumi Good Deed Summit in Lake Como, Italy, this April.

The contest recognises young changemakers who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to kindness and community service.

Noah has become a well-known figure in the city for his selfless contributions, which include performing with his school choir at local nursing homes, singing at school events, and volunteering regularly at his church.

If successful, Noah will win a complimentary registration to the summit in Italy, where he aims to collaborate with international students to share how the younger generation can make a meaningful global impact.

“Noah wants to connect with other young changemakers and show how powerful we can be when we come together,” a spokesperson for the initiative stated. “He is excited to learn from the work of others and experience the culture of Italy to see the good deeds happening there.”

The winner will be determined by a public vote on social media. The Derry public can support Noah’s journey to Lake Como by visiting the Loukoumi Foundation Instagram page.

To ensure votes are counted, supporters must 'like' Noah’s entry post and 'follow' the Loukoumi Foundation account.
