A man who was granted police bail after an alleged offence on January 25 'didn't make it to the charge day' Derry Magistrates' Court heard today.
Conor Colhoun (29) of Spencer Road in Derry appeared charged with indecent behaviour on January 30 and disorderly behaviour at Altnagelvin Hospital on January 31.
He was also charged with attempted criminal damage to a police vehicle that was said to have occurred on January 25.
The court heard that as regards the January 25 incident police were dealing with an incident in the Sackville Street/Strand Road area and were making arrests.
Colhoun was alleged to have thrown a shoe at a police vehicle.
He was granted police bail to appear on Feb 18 but the court heard on Friday night at 10.30 police received a report of a man 'stumbling about' in the Victoria car park.
They found Colhoun who was said to have become abusive before urinating in front of members of the public.
He was arrested and conveyed to Altnagelvin Hospital where he was said to have started shouting and raising his voice despite being asked to stop.
Bail was opposed due to the risk of reoffending and the court was told that the defendant was currently on licence.
A police officer said Colhoun had been given a chance and couldn't even make that date.
Defence counsel Grainne McAnaney said that the defendant could be re-released on bail with added conditions such as a curfew.
Deputy District Judge John Connolly said he had too many concerns not least the pressures hospital staff were already under.
He refused bail and Colhoun was remanded in custody to appear again on March 2.
