NIFRS confirms house fir death in Rosemount
NI Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed a fatality has taken place at a house in Derru's Grafton Street, in Rosemount.
A NIFRS spokesperson said: "The thoughts and sympathies of Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service are with the loved ones of a man who died following an incident at a terraced house on Grafton Street, Rosemount, Derry.
“Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in a terraced house at 11.14am this morning (Friday 30 January 2026).
"Two Appliances from Northland Fire Station and 1 Appliance from Crescent Link Fire Station attended the incident.
“The fire was extinguished prior to NIFRS arrival. Firefighters ventilated the property and assisted NIAS with first aid on 1 casualty. Tragically, the man, aged in his 60s, died at the scene.
“The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and Firefighters left the scene at 12.23pm.”
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police in Derry attended the scene of a sudden death in Grafton Street, on Friday, January 30.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
