County Derry woman faces Crown Court over alleged shop robbery

A woman has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on charges including robbery and resisting police following a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court.

Katy Bowers (38) of Hazlebank Road in Coleraine was charged with, on June 24 last year, stealing a number of vapes and scratch cards from a shop.

She was also charged with making threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knife, with intent to commit robbery and resisting police.

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Bowers chose not to submit any statements and not to call any witnesses.

She was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on February 23.
