A man currently on bail for breaking into Altnagelvin Hospital and stealing a scanner valued at £5,000 has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with breaching his bail.

Caolan Murray (18) of Coleraine Road in Portstewart appeared charged with curfew violations between December 8 last year and January 11 by not being at his address.

Murray is charged with entering Altnagelvin Hospital as a trespasser and stealing a scanner in July last year.

A police officer told the court that this was Murray's first breach of bail and police were agreeable to him being re-released.

Murray was re-released on bail on condition that he does not enter the grounds of Altnagelvin Hospital unless in a medical emergency, not to enter the city of Derry and to have no contact with his co-accused.
