A man has appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court charged with a number of drug offences dating from 2019-2021.

Cormac McGeady (47) of Corrody Road in Derry was charged with, on February 5, 2021, being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

He was also charged with, between December 10, 2019 and June 7, 2020, being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

He was charged after his phone was triaged and messages were found linking him to the drugs.

Defence Barrister Stephen Mooney said that the offences were 'quite antiquated' and said that McGeady's last offences were some disorderly behavior charges that occurred decades ago.

He was sentenced to six months in custody, suspended for six months.
