Derry community arts organisation Féile has today donated £1,000 to support the work of health professionals providing life-saving care and aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The money, raised from a screening of 'Gerry Adams - A Ballymurphy Man' at the Brunswick Moviebowl during Féile 2025, will be donated to the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) as part of the Bloody Sunday Trust’s Christmas Appeal.
A spokesperson for Féile said: “The ongoing situation in Gaza remains dire as deadly Israeli attacks continue, vital aid is still blocked, and the humanitarian crisis worsens.
“The international community must make every effort to support the health professionals on the ground in Gaza who are providing life-saving care to people living under catastrophe.
“Selfless acts of heroism and bravery carried out by these health workers on the frontline, while working under the worst conditions imaginable, are inspirational.
“We hope that this contribution will assist those efforts, and we are very pleased to support the appeal launched by the Bloody Sunday Trust, which has already raised tens of thousands of pounds for humanitarian causes in Palestine.
“Thank you to filmmaker Trisha Ziff, Gerry Adams, Brunswick Moviebowl, and everyone who bought a ticket to support this very important cause.”
