Woman jailed at Derry Court for assaulting two men, leaving one 'with a bloody nose'

A woman has been jailed at Derry Magistrate's Court for assaulting two men.

Katy Bowers (37) of Heron Way in Derry admitted the assaults that occurred on March 5 this year.

The court heard that at 4.30pm on that date police were called to Clooney Community Centre after reports of two men being assaulted by a female. 

Police were told that Bowers became aggressive towards one man and assaulted him and when the second man intervened she assaulted him leaving him 'with a bloody nose'.

She also dug her nails into his hand.

When interviewed Bowers denied one of the assaults then made no comment. 

Defence counsel Stephen Chapman said his client had had time to reflect on matters and was now pleading guilty. 

He said this defendant had begun offending over the last year and had 'difficulties' with alcohol. 

Bowers was jailed for three months.
