Case of police officer charged with data breach adjourned at Derry Magistrates' Court

The case of a police officer charged with a data breach was adjourned at Derry Magistrates' Court today. 

Kevin Carlin (45) whose address was given as c/o PSNI Knock in Belfast was charged with one count of unlawfully obtaining personal data without the consent of the data controller on April 20, 2023.

Carling did not appear in person but his solicitor Ciaran Shiels said that the charges would be contested.

He said that a number of witnesses could be agreed in the matter.

The case was adjourned until January 27 to fix a date.
