The third annual HURT ‘Paws For Thought’ 5k Dog Walk/Family Fun Day takes place on Saturday, 20th July leaving from Destined (Foyle Road) at 11.00am.
HURT, founded by Derry woman Sadie O'Reilly who tragically lost her son Tony to heroin addiction, provides help and support to others struggling with addiction and their families.
Organisers are calling on all walkers and their dogs to join them for an adventure 'down the line' in what promises to be a fun-filled day celebrating our furry friends.
A spokesperson said: "Walking our fur babies has great physical and mental health benefits. This summer HURT want to get the community exercising, chatting, and socialising again.
"Bring your Dogs along to walk 'down the line', followed by some fun for the whole family!
"On the day, there will be doggie photos, bandanas and other treats. Plus fun activities for all the family with bouncy castles, face painting, barbeque and exciting raffle prizes.
"Join us as we come together as a community showing appreciation to our furry friends, all donations made on the day will be donated to HURT to continue the amazing work they do in our city!"
