The Deputy Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Alderman Niree McMorris, hosted a special civic reception in the Mayor’s Parlour this week in honour of the outstanding achievements of Culmore Football Club. The event recognised the club’s success over the course of the 2025 season and celebrated the dedication, talent, and commitment demonstrated by its players, coaches, and volunteers.
“I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to all of the young players, as well as the dedicated coaches and committee members behind the Culmore Youth Football teams, for their continued success throughout the 2025 season. Your commitment, hard work and passion have truly paid off.
“While it is always wonderful to celebrate trophies and achievements, it is equally important to recognise the value of being part of a team like this. Youth football is about far more than winning matches, it is about building friendships, learning the importance of teamwork and fostering a strong sense of community spirit. Well done to everyone involved, and I encourage you all to keep up the fantastic work in the seasons ahead,” she added.
