Derry Magistrate's Court

A man currently on bail in connection with offences against his father and brother has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today for breaching his bail.

Conchur Keenan (21) of Iona Court in Derry is charged with assault, threats to kill, criminal damage and possessing an offensive weapon earlier this year.

A police officer told the court that part of Keenan's bail conditions were that he was not to have any contact with his father and not to be intoxicated.

The court heard that the defendant was located at his father's address and was intoxicated.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that the breach was accepted but said that police were agreeable to Keenan being released again.

Deputy District Judge Alan White said that he would release Keenan again but warned him that any further breaches would see him go into custody.

Keenan will appear again on December 7.
