The programme is open to teenagers.
Roe Valley Residents Association, a popular community organisation in Limavady, are inviting young people aged 12–16 to sign up for their social engagement initiative, CONNECT.
In recent weeks, those taking part have enjoyed activities such as bowling outings, cookery workshops, music and film evenings, Nerf battles, and plenty more.
With a small number of places still available, Roe Valley Residents Association is encouraging young people to seize this chance to join in, enjoy new experiences, and make friendships along the way.
Toni Doran, CONNECT lead worker explained the benefits to taking part in the programme:
“CONNECT is all about creating a safe, welcoming space for young people who may find larger group settings overwhelming, but who still want to build friendships and be part of something positive.
“We focus on small group work where young people can relax, be themselves and connect with others who share similar interests.
“Over recent months, participants have taken part in cooking classes, movie nights, Nerf wars, slime-making sessions, music nights and even a bowling social outing.
“These activities aren’t just about having fun, although that’s a big part of it, they are carefully planned to help build confidence, develop social skills, and strengthen peer relationships.
“Through CONNECT, young people gain confidence, make new friends, improve communication skills, and feel a greater sense of belonging.
“Most importantly, they realise they are not alone and that there is a supportive space where they can grow, have fun and make meaningful connections”
The programme is centred on enjoyment, friendship and growing self-confidence, offering young people aged 12–16 the chance to connect in a welcoming and supportive setting.
By joining the group, participants can boost their confidence, meet new friends, enjoy a variety of activities and outings, and build genuine social connections.
The group meets every Monday at 6pm at The Hub and teenagers can learn more by contacting Roe Valley Residents Association through their Facebook page.
Roe Valley Residents Association are looking forward to welcoming new members, but with places limited, they are encouraging anyone interested to get in touch as soon as possible.
