Multiple cars had their tyres slashed earlier today.
Up to 15 parked vehicles had tyres slashed in Limavady earlier today, it's understood.
The cars, which were parked in the Glens area of the town, just off the Ballyquin Road, were targeted in the act of vandalism.
It's believed the vehicles belonged to students who attend a nearby school.
It's understood some of the cars had multiple tyres slashed during the incident.
Local businessman Michael Hill, owner of Premium 7 Tyres, helped to get some of those affected back on the road.
Posting about the incident on Facebook, Mr Hill said: "15 cars were the victim of a local vigilante. We were first on the scene and glad to be able to help people get back on the road. We operated on nine cars with an average of three stab wounds to a minimum of two tyres per vehicle. Shocking stuff folks! Stay safe out there!"
The PSNI say they believe a man dressed in dark clothing and wearing a hi-vis jacket may be able to help with their enquiries into the vandalism.
Sergeant Shannon said: "Just after 1.45pm today, Monday 26th January, we received a report that tyres had been slashed on fifteen vehicles parked in a small carpark in the Glenview Drive area.
"After carrying out enquiries in the area, we now believe that the damage was caused at around 10.55am.
"Our investigation is ongoing and we believe a man dressed in dark clothing, wearing a hi-vis jacket and navy hat may be able to help with our enquiries.
“We would appeal to anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in the area to contact us on 101. We're particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam or other footage.
"The relevant reference number is 749 26/01/25."
