Portstewart artist Adrian Margey is looking forward to his upcoming exhibition in Derry.
Artist Adrian Margey will unveil a significant new exhibition and sale of work at The Ebrington Hotel in Derry this weekend, from Friday, January 30 to Sunday, February 1.
Margey held the Ebrington’s first exhibition in 2024 and his return to the venue with this now annual exhibition is highly anticipated by local art enthusiasts and collectors.
Widely recognised for his contemporary and traditional portrayals of Ireland’s landscapes and landmarks, the Portstewart artist places the spotlight firmly on the North West in this latest collection. The works are inspired by the architectural character of the Maiden City, the wild beauty of Donegal, and the atmospheric coastline of the Causeway Coast.
Speaking ahead of the exhibition, Margey said: “I am thrilled to be back at The Ebrington Hotel with this new body of work and am really looking forward to welcoming visitors to experience this extensive collection. Highlights include bold interpretations of the Peace Bridge (below), the Guildhall, Austins and Shipquay Street, alongside expressive depictions of Inishowen, Errigal, The Poison Glen, Marble Hill, Glenveagh, Downhill, Portrush, and Portstewart to name a few.’

Margey initially gained attention for his vivid, expressive use of colour, and continues to receive praise for his evolving style, including more subtle, impressionistic works that favour a natural and understated palette. He holds a PhD from Queen’s University Belfast, has exhibited in Washington DC and was invited to live paint at the Experience Ireland showcase in Milan in 2004.
