The event is open to those aged 60 plus.
Residents aged 60 and over in the Limavady area are being encouraged to attend the Causeway Older Active Strategic Team’s (C.O.A.S.T) Wellbeing in Winter event, which will take place on Thursday, February 12 at 10am in the Services Club on Roe Mill Road, Limavady.
The free event offers older people the opportunity to enjoy a morning of useful information about local support services, along with entertainment and lunch, all designed to promote health, wellbeing and social connection during the winter months.
The Wellbeing in Winter programme will also be delivered in other locations across the area, with upcoming workshops planned for Limavady, Coleraine, Ballymoney and Moyle.
Tori Lowbridge, Project Manager of C.O.A.S.T, explained why this session is of benefit to mature Limavady residents:
“The Wellbeing in Winter event is a free morning of information and entertainment for those aged 60+.
“The event funded through Policing and Community Safety Partnership and the TNL Community Fund provides an opportunity for older people to connect with local services that are available to them in the community for help and support.
“Participants will enjoy light entertainment and a hot lunch; the event creates a friendly, welcoming environment where people can socialise, connect and feel part of the community.”
Tori cautioned that spaces are limited so please call 028 7776 7860 or email coast.manager@yahoo.co.uk to book your place as soon as possible.
In addition to the Limavady event on February 12, C.O.A.S.T will host Wellbeing in Winter events in Ballymoney on January 22, Coleraine on February 5, and the Moyle area on February 26.
C.O.A.S.T is Northern Ireland’s first regional network dedicated to supporting older people across the Causeway Coast and Glens area, providing services for those aged 60 and over.
The organisation focuses on simple, preventative support, offering practical assistance that makes a real difference to the lives of older people and helps them to maintain their independence.
Based in Limavady, the community group was established to improve the quality of life for those over 60 and provides a free Safe Home service, helping older people to feel more secure and confident in their own homes.
C.O.A.S.T also operates a handyperson service, offering subsidised small repairs and minor maintenance work to people aged 60+ living throughout the Causeway Coast and Glens.
To book a place at the Limavady event or any of the upcoming workshops, contact Tori on 028 7776 7860 or email coast.manager@yahoo.co.uk.
