'Keeping our customers’ homes safe, secure and comfortable is our priority' - Clanmil Housing Association.
Clanmil Housing Association has rebutted claims by Mark H Durkan MLA and Cllr Lilian Seenoi-Barr (SDLP) regarding their recent claims about damp and mould in homes in Balliniska Avenue.
Speaking to Derry Now, a spokesperson for Clanmil Housing Association said: "Keeping our customers’ homes safe, secure and comfortable is our priority.
"Reports of damp in properties at Ballinaska Heights are unfounded and misleading. These reports did not come from our tenants.
"It is disappointing that we were not contacted for a response or clarification on this matter.
"Our Maintenance Officer and Housing Manager have visited both of the homes in question and, whilst there are some repairs required, there is no evidence of damp in either property.
"We are aware of issues with doors at some properties and this is being addressed. A minor window frame leak at one property is also being repaired. In addition, external paint work is scheduled for redecoration in our 2023/24 maintenance programme.”
