IN PICTURES: Curfá stars welcomed to Guildhall as Mayor celebrates Hive Choir success

A civic tribute to the volunteers of Hive Cancer Support, from the voices of the Curfá choir to the hands-on efforts of the unit’s allotment

The Mayor of Derry and Strabane, Councillor Ruairí McHugh, has hosted a reception for members of the Hive Cancer Support Unit choir who recently represented Derry and the wider community by taking part in Curfá, a TG4 television series that searches for the best choir in Ireland. The First Citizen also recognised the unit’s dedication in providing emotional support, friendship and encouragement to those affected by cancer, through the healing power of music. Included are volunteers from the allotment group which is used to promote physical and mental health. (Photos: Martin McKeown)
