Search for Racecourse Medical GP extended for fortnight.
The search for a new GP to lead Racecourse Medical has been extended.
Speaking to Derry Now, Derry City and Strabane District Ballyarnett councillor, Emmet Doyle (Aontú) said: "The search for a new GP to lead Racecourse Medical after the current leads handed back their contract has been extended by a further two weeks.
“I have been monitoring this situation closely given the importance of the surgery to the people in Shantallow and beyond. I contacted officials yesterday when the initial competition closed.
I am now told this has been extended by a fortnight. Due to the nature of the process for this important role officials couldn’t confirm if they had received any interest.
I will keep monitoring this daily and pushing officials until we have a secure healthcare provider back in Racecourse Medical.”
