TeamStrike Derry celebrate their impressive haul of medals in Waterford

TeamStrike Derry has solidified its reputation as one of the country’s premier martial arts clubs following a powerhouse performance at the 2026 ISKA Irish Open. Competing against the finest talent in the sport, the Derry-based squad secured a remarkable Top 10 overall team placement, bringing home a total of 14 medals.

The squad’s disciplined performance produced six Irish Open Champions. Highlighting the team’s technical versatility, Jack Quinn secured a remarkable double gold, topping the podium in both the K1 and Low Kick divisions.

He was joined on the top of the podium by Buncrana-native Liam Grant who secured gold in the K1 category. Grant is a two-time Irish Open title holder and was recently named the Donegal Sports Star of the Year for martial arts.

Joining them as national champions are JP Coyle, Eoin Craddock, and Niamh Thompson, all of whom delivered gold-medal performances in their respective categories.

The medal tally was further bolstered by six silver medals and two bronze medals.

The club extended a special "shout out" to the dedicated coaching staff and corner team - Brendan Daly, Mark Clifford, and Emma McAllister - whose tactical guidance and support throughout the day were instrumental in the team's success.

Recognition was also given to the "Team behind the Team", with the club expressing deep gratitude to the parents who travelled to support the competitors and the training partners back home who pushed the squad during their preparation.

TeamStrike Derry also praised the ISKA staff and officials for running a seamless, high-standard event that allowed the athletes to showcase their skills on a professional stage.

With six new Irish Open titles under their belt, TeamStrike Derry now looks forward to building on this momentum for the remainder of the 2026 season.
