Derry showjumper Daniel Coyle secures top-10 global position

Daniel has officially returned to the elite top 10 of the Longines FEI Jumping World Rankings

Derry’s Daniel Coyle gallops to $200,000 Grand Prix victory at World Equestrian Centre

Following a dominant start to the 2026 season, Derry showjumper Daniel Coyle has officially returned to the elite top 10 of the Longines FEI Jumping World Rankings. In the latest standings released on February 4, 2026, Coyle moved up two positions to claim the World No. 9 spot with a total of 2,787 points.

The Ardmore natives ascent follows a series of high-profile victories at the World Equestrian Center (WEC) – Ocala.

Most recently, Coyle secured back-to-back Grand Prix wins during Week V of the 2026 Winter Spectacular Show Series: Coyle and his seasoned partner Farrel captured the $200,000 Gary Yeomans Ford Grand Prix and just 24 hours later, Coyle piloted his new partner, Urville Z, to first place in the $65,000 Golden Ocala Grand Prix.

"Delighted to be starting the year inside the world's top 10," Coyle shared via social media. "It’s a testament to the team at Lothlorien, the horses, and the momentum heading into the season ahead".

The February 2026 rankings see Great Britain’s Scott Brash return to the World No. 1 position, followed by Kent Farrington (USA) and Ben Maher (GBR). Coyle remains the highest-ranked Irish rider in the top 10, maintaining a narrow lead over American veteran McLain Ward, who currently holds the 10th position.
