Derry to host international boxing tournament next month

Derry will host a prestigious international boxing event next month.

Derry has been selected to host a prestigious Ireland v Wales International Youth event at the Guildhall on Saturday, March 1.

The show will begin with three local bouts and will be followed by 13 International bouts in what is sure to be a incredible night of action for local boxing fans.

These young boxers are being lined up for the next Olympics in the USA in 2026 and this will give local fans a taste of what the Irish team and the Welsh team has to offer at the highest level.

The Guildhall has hosted many great nights of Amateur boxing and this International event will also guarantee a fantastic night which is not to be missed by fight fans.

This is first time in many years Derry has had a full Irish boxing International and the Co. Derry Boxing Board & Ulster Council have asked the boxing public to support this tournament, which will see full Elite championships and other great nights of boxing back in the city.

Doors open on the night at 6pm.
