The MET Office warns of strong winds on Sunday and Monday

Status Yellow warning alert in place as storm weather to hit

Derry faces a yellow weather warning for Sunday and Monday as the MET Office warns of strong winds.

The Derry City and Strabane District Council have posted NI Direct’s weather warning on their Facebook account.

It said: “Weather warning for strong winds on Sunday and Monday. Injuries/danger to life possible from flying debris, or large waves at coast. Travel delays, power cuts, fallen trees, and damage to buildings are also possible. Info and advice: https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/winds

The warning is to the whole of Northern Ireland and Scotland, and parts of north west England, as strong winds have been predicted.
