Velma Bratton (née Carson), Winchester Park, Derry

The death has taken place of Velma Bratton (née Carson), August 21 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved wife of David, Winchester Park, loving mother of Simon, Gemma and Rebecca, devoted grandmother of James and Jonah and dear sister of Joan and the late baby Gardner. Her remains will be reposing at 2 Lismacarol Road (beside Lismacarol Mission Hall). Funeral service will take place in Lismacarol Hall on Saturday at 2.00pm. Interment afterwards in Glendermott Presbyterian burying ground. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Family flowers only please. Dylan (Dil) Hamilton, Shearwater Way, Derry

The death has taken place of Dylan (Dil) Hamilton, August 19 2025, suddenly at his home, Shearwater Way. Dearly beloved son of the late Abbey and Irene. Loving brother of James, Gina, Mark and Dorothy. It is with deep regret and sorrow we announce the passing of Karen Elizabeth King (née Falconer), August 20 2025, peacefully at Causeway Hospital, dearly beloved wife of James, 23 Greenmount Road, Coleraine, much loved mother of Helen, Jason and Richard, dear mother-in-law of Aaron, Ashley and Nicola, devoted grandmother of Andrew, Hannah, Ben, Thomas, Rebekah, Emma, Lucy and Olivia and dear sister of Ian and Kay. Michael (Micky) Moore, 16 Abercorn Road, Derry

The death has taken place of Michael Moore, August 20 2025, suddenly at his homec, 16 Abercorn Road, ex. husband of Terri, loving father of Darren, Lauren And Zack, beloved son of June and the late Patrick, cherished brother of Patrick, Stephen, Damian, Martin, Ann and Mark, dear uncle to his nephews and nieces. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Michael will be reposing at his family home, 32 Barry Street. Funeral leaving 32 Barry Street on Saturday, August 23 at 9:20 a.m. to St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for him.

John McGough, Derry

The death has taken place of John McGough, August 17 2025, Peacefully at Strathcarron Hospice, aged 83, beloved husband of the late Daphne, loving father of Darren and Janelle, special father-in-law of Suzie and Stuart, much loved grandad of Amy, Alex, Lewis and Carson, special uncle to Yvonne. Funeral will take on Sunday, August 24 from his son Darren’s home, 7 Rossdale, Kilfennan at 1.30pm followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to Strathcarron Hospice, c/o Mrs Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT473QQ. Everyone is welcome to call at Darren’s home on Friday and Saturday from 11.00am until 9.00pm. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Camelon Medical Practice and latterly to all the wonderful staff at Strathcarron Hospice for the excellent care and support in dad’s final months. Treasured memories are for today, tomorrow and forever.

The death has occurred of the late John Sutters, August 20 2025, (peacefully) at Ardlough Care Home, Drumahoe, Derry, dearly beloved son of the late David and Sarah, formerly of Annaghmore Road, Castledawson, much loved brother of May, Jean and the late Willie and Margaret, dear brother-in-law of Roy and the late Edward and Trevor also a loving uncle and great-uncle. Funeral service in Garvin’s Funeral Home, 15 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, BT45 6BP on Saturday (August 23) at 2:00pm followed by burial in Castledawson Presbyterian Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, for Clondermott House Patients Comfort Fund payable to Garvin’s Funeral Service (Donation’s A/c). Lovingly remembered by the entire family circle. “Safe in the arms of Jesus.”
